Being Creative...

My latest creation!

Okay, for days now I've been saying I'm going to go down into my creative space and be creative. I want to come up with a few things that I could make and try to sell. I love to sew fabric collages together, so after looking through a few Somerset Magazines to inspire me...this is what I came up with. I want to make a few more to see how they evolve, but I'm happy with the results I came up with today. If you happen to stop by anytime soon, please leave me a comment and tell me what you think?

I started with torn fabric, then added netting and batting behind it. I then proceeded to add scraps of this and that to the front. I laid a length of ribbon down one side, with a tea stained doiley on the lower portion. I printed out some lettering...this one says "Friends Are Angels on Earth" . The words are covered with netting. I then added trim to the bottom with lots of vintage buttons. I used an old piece of jewelery to embellish and also added a vintage print of a cat. I then added a hanger out of netting with silk ribbon and more buttons and bows for trim. I coated the vintage heart button at the right corner with vintage gold glass glitter. Once complete, I sewed it all together with a piece of fabric on the back, then coated the entire piece lightly with a fabric glitter glue. I'm never quite sure about my creations, I think that I am too critical. I believe that I think too much when I create and must learn to just create, don't think!

This picture is a big fuzzy, but it does show the words and the cat somewhat.

This is a good picture of the completed project.

What do you think? Comments are greatly appreciated.

Ow my, I think this is just lovely. I love the buttons along the bottom, in the different colors and sizes. Like the prisms too...just beautiful. You should really try making lots of these for ETSY,this kind of work really sells well there. Keep us posted. Thanks for adding my link by the way, I will add yours to my blog as well.

Congratulations on your Etsy shoppe. I haven't taken the plunge yet but think about it a lot. Isn't it creative and fun to put collages together? I am loving it - I am creating heart boxes with Victorian prints and it's fascinating. The hours fly. Thanks for showing us your lovely creation, I am sure you will have a following!
