I'M SEEING SOCKS, SOCKS AND MORE SOCKS!

Socks, socks, socks....socks everywhere! I just finished knitting up a pair of socks...well, let's just say a pair of socks that I started knitting 'a very long time ago'. Nothing special, just a 'Plain Jane' pair of socks! I do love how you can knit just a 'Plain Jane' pair of socks, but that the yarn magically turns them into something special and interesting. At each stitch of the needle new images appear because of the beautiful, magical yarn that is available these days.
I'm on a mission to complete some of the started, but yet finished projects hanging around my office. Do any of you have any unfinished projects? Come on....I know you do? Isn't that the motto of a 'crafting artist'? I'm not sure how far I will get, there are a few sitting around! The unfinished beanie for hubby, the unfinished poncho I started last winter! The unfinished quilt that I started for dear daughter many a moon ago. There's a bag or two of yarn stashed away for sweaters that will probably be out of date by the time they are knitted up. And...there's the flowers that need to be made into bridesmaid bouquets for my daughter-in-laws very dear friend.
This leads me to the basket of unused sock yarn that I have accumulated. I seem to be unable to stop collecting sock yarn. Each time I visit another store, the sock yarn is just sitting there in the corner singing my name! I wish it would not do that...the sock yarn I mean! I usually never leave a knitting store without a skein in hand! Okay, I'll say it..........I LOVE SOCK YARN! Actually, I love most any kind of yarn...but, it's sock yarn that seems to have my heart these days.
So, off I go to start another pair. Perhaps this time I'll try a wonderful new pattern that will give the socks more of a statement. I know, I know...what about all those unfinished projects awaiting my attention? Well, they will be there today, tomorrow and in the far future! For today it's the socks that has my attention and the basket full of yarn!

The never ending basket of sock yarn....look at all the pretty fibers! See those wooden sticks in the background? Those are knitting needles! Can you believe it? For those of you who know knitting...these are some big needles! Size 50 and 28" long!

It's a pretty big basket, don't you think? I think the blue/purple yarn up there in the corner is calling my name! It has a touch of yellow in it....yes, yes...that's the one! I think I'll start with those.

Last, but not least....the newly completed 'Plain Jane' socks!

NEW ETSY ITEM!

I've been away for a few days....I've been creatin'! I took the last couple of days to work on an idea for my etsy shop. I've been wanting to make these up forever! I have other ideas for a sachet holder, but for now I'm just concentrated on these. These delights are fabric cones that I sewed and embellished with lots of vintage pizzazzzzz! I also added a scumptious amount of beaded fringe to the bottom. Included with the cones is the cutiest envelope sachet with a lovely floral scent. The sachet envelopes themselves are really beautiful, featuring vintage portraits of ladies. The cones can hang in your bathroom, on a doorknob, closet, or even a knob of a chest. Once the sachet is used up, you can replace it or use the cone to hold dried flowers, candies or what not's. I have one that I keep on the door to the garage with the car keys in it...that way I know exactly where my keys are!

Thank you for taking a look at my latest creation for my Etsy shop! I hope you've enjoyed your visit.

There were chocolate covered strawberries. These were for my daughter...sent by California boyfriend! He knows her well!

He also sent her a dozen beautiful red roses....lucky girl!

We made cupcakes!

Out with the old...In with the new!

Excitement abounds in our household....I have a new computer! Are you a Mac'er or a PC'er? There is a lot of debate in this household! Hubby is a Mac'er....I'm a PC'er! After many month's of struggling with my old computer, and after one stressful day spent in the emergency room to see if Dr. McGeek could repair the old, tired, struggling PC. Old PC spent almost two weeks in the hospital recuperating...after that he was just not the same. My dear, sweet hubby said 'why not buy a new one'! Was I delusional? Was I hearing things? NO....hubby was saying 'buy a new computer'! So, off I went to the Dell website and purchased a new, beautiful Dell Inspiron 1720! She's beautiful, she has a 17" screen for better viewing and she's a beautiful white opalescent color! Since I just got her yesterday, I'm still learning the new 'Vista' system. So far, so good...she working beautifully!

Out with the old....(Now don't feel bad old computer will still stick around. He will strickly be used for my Husqvarna Embroidery Sewing Machine. Since he can still handle 'floppy' disks, he will only be used for programming new embroidery stitches!) See, I told you he was old...who uses 'floppy' disks these days?

In with the new! Isn't she beautiful?

I can't decide what background to use? There are so many wonderful ones to choose from. For now, I'm using the upclose, dew covered blades of grass!

So......are you a Mac'er or a PC'er?

Thank you dear, sweet hubby! You are just the best!

New Etsy Items...

I've decided to add a little something, something to my hand knit scarves. You can now purchase a few of my scarves with the added bonus of a wool flower pin. The pin can be detached and worn separately with a suit jacket, on a purse or tote. I hope to get a few more pins made to sell alone, for now I've only listed one flower separately. In the meantime, pop on over to my etsy shop and take a look at the new pins and a couple of new scarves.

My new wool flowers....

This is a new 'fun' fur scarf with coordinating wool flower pin!

This scarf was already listed, but now includes a coordinating wool flower pin.

Did I forget to mention....it has lots of buttons! The fringe on this scarf has vintage buttons attached for a bit of added flair.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you return soon, and that you have a wonderfully happy weekend!

Sewing Project Completed....

Wow, two posts in one day! My first ever, but I did want to share with you the completed sewing project I've been working on. Did you ever guess what I was sewing? Well, here it is... I've been sewing Market Totes to sell in my etsy shop. These totes are sold in pairs and are quiet fashionable. They are made of cotton/cotton blend and can hold a large assortment of purchases. They fold compactly to carry in your purse, car or suitcase when you might need extra carrying power on the return trip. And...they are machine washable. They are lined in contrasting fabric, and have two large pockets for those little extra's. I'm selling them for $35.00 a pair with FREE SHIPPING!

My Market Tote, after a trip to the market....full of lots of goodies!

These Market Totes fold neatly into a 5" x 6" x 1" compact size. And, are secured with a vintage button.

The Market Totes are made in a variety of fabrics, all with coordinating lining and pockets.

Some are cute and contemporary.

Some are modern....

and, some are vintage!

A peak of the inside of one of my Market Bags. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! It's been fun sewing these up! I say, 'if you're going to save the environment....do it in style!"

Valentine Swap...

I can finally post the pictures of what I made for my Valentine Swap Partner. Rebecca over at http://ourbackporch.blogspot.com/ was my V'day swap partner. I'm so excited that she liked her gift. This was her first swap, so it was important to me to spoil her just a tad. Happy Valentine's Day Rebecca, it was great to get to know you a little bit. Oh, and it's Rebecca's wedding anniversary too....February 14th, so HAPPY ANNIVERSARY too!

I made a 'pink' confection....lot's of pink and glitter!

Isn't it cute?

Filled with lots of goodies....here's a little heart with a vintage rhinestone button and heart! A little glimpse of the vintage hankie and sweet cookie!

Can't do without a red, glitzy heart on V'Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY REBECCA.....and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!
